This past Saturday, July 7th, the Chautauqua County Equestrian Trail System held it’s first annual “Poker Run” on horseback.  The event was chaired by Caroline North and Barbara Hager for the purpose of raising much needed money for repairs to the trails.  The horse and riders left from the Cherry Creek, NY Ball Park, and the riders had a choice of traveling four miles, 9 miles, or 12 miles.  The weather was absolutely perfect and the trails, as always, were beautiful and were in good condition.

39 horses and riders participated in the Poker Run.  The money raised will be used toward building materials and machinery needed to repair the damage done to the trails by the heavy spring rains.

Most of this ride took place on private land and we want to thank our Cherry Creek neighbors for allowing riders on their property so visitors can experience the beauty of this area.

Again, thank you, Caroline, Barbara, and their committee: Dan Hager and Ruth Hager.  Thanks to the members of the CCETS board for helping to clear trails for the run and for their support on Saturday.  A very big thanks to all the participants who made this event an incredibly wonderful fundraiser for the CCETS trail system.
